soraai.fun went online in February 2024, in the week OpenAI first showed the world Sora - a model that turns a short written prompt into a realistic video clip. The site collected the official sample videos, the first reactions from OpenAI staff and outside creators, and a run of articles about the other AI image and video tools that were moving fast at the same time: Stable Diffusion, ComfyUI, Automatic1111, ControlNet, AnimateDiff, Fooocus, Proteus and PixVerse.
The articles, the embedded videos and the questions and answers on the homepage are kept as they were written in February 2024. This page, the FAQ, the contact form and the legal pages were written for the current edition of the site.
Not an OpenAI site
soraai.fun is an independent, unofficial project. It has no connection to OpenAI and does not speak for OpenAI. "Sora" is OpenAI's name for its video model; it is used here only to describe and discuss that model, the way a review site would.
Where things stand now
For the record, since the articles below were written when Sora had just been announced: OpenAI shut down the Sora web app on 26 April 2026, and the Sora API followed on 24 September 2026. Nothing on this site should be read as a live product page - it is a record of how Sora looked at launch, kept for reference.
